It’s easy to get sick of the same ol bars in Miami. Luckily, there are always hot new spots opening up in all neighborhoods. Check out some of my favorite new places to grab drinks with friends (also great date spots) – and let me know if you know any others I should check out!

Mama Tried

Downtown, Miami

Run by the same people behind Blackbird Ordinary and Purdy Lounge, Mama Tried is a hot new spot in Downtown Miami. Giving us major 50’s Vegas style vibes with their funky decor, arcade games (and a pool table) and a super fun glowing ceiling made of fiber-optic sparkling star lights. This is the perfect date night spot but also a great place to hang with a group.

S Bar

inside the  SLS Lux Brickell

S Bar is located in the brand new SLS LUX Brickell. The vibe is casual and the style is bohemian chic with an urban edge. It’s a lounge that you’ll love.

The Dirty Rabbit

Wynwood, Miami

My fave spot in Wynwood Miami.🌴

A post shared by Tezer (@tezersait) on

For the people looking to dance – The Dirty Rabbit in Wynwood is your new go-to spot. Delicious cocktails, funky decor, and wild all-night dance parties, this is definitely a spot to take your friends to.

The ScapeGoat

Miami Beach

Happy Monday!

A post shared by The ScapeGoat (@scapegoatmiami) on

The ultimate spot for your night cap (it’s located in the old spot, The Room) – the Scapegoat on Miami Beach is super sexy and intimate. Delicious cocktails and romantic, dim lit decor.

Terrazzo has made a huge comeback in the interior world. It’s popping up not only in homes, but famous hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs. The history of terrazzo dates back over five hundred years. Terrazzo (Italian for “Terrace) floors were invented in Venice during the 15th century. Workers were left with oddly shaped pieces of marble after jobs. They would put the small marble rocks in clay and grind them flat for a more comfortable walking surface. The workers used a tool called a “Galera” to allow them to grind while in a standing position. The terrazzo would only show its true color when wet until workers discovered the milk of their goats worked as a finish to allow the terrazzo to show its real color. In 1924 the Galera was improved to create electric grinding equipment for a smoother finish. This was the original terrazzo finish. Shortly thereafter, white Portland cement was introduced into the industry. Portland cement could be dyed all sorts of colors, allowing for a limitless variety of terrazzo.

Between 1930 and 1970, designers embraced the unique marble and was a distinct staple in mid century buildings and interiors. Terrazzo fell from grace in the 90’s (taken over by marble, granite, and quartz) and has yet to be seen until recently.

What I find so fun about Terrazzo is how vast the design options are. From tiny speckles to huge markings, monotone coloring or bright greens and yellows. The options are endless. Also, you should note that Terrazzo has had a bit of an upgrade since it’s earlier days. The modern version of Terrazzo is called Resin Terrazzo and has been made to be stronger and less prone to cracking.

Check out some of my favorite ways to incorporate Terrazzo below. What are your thoughts?

Instead of asking your friends where you should eat – check out this list and try them all. From southern comfort food to Omakase style food, these new Miami spots are all equally delectable.

222 TACO

Former Coyo Taco Owner, Anna Robbins’ 222 Taco in North Bay Village is a palace of tortillas and margaritas and it features a full bar called ‘La Margarita Shop’ serving all kinds of margaritas (as well as beer + wine). A great spot for authentic *and delicious* Mexican food.

MALIBU FARM

Located inside the Eden Roc Hotel, Malibu Farm Miami Beach brings healthy Cali style food to Miami (and the amazing oceanside views don’t hurt).

HIDEN

Omakase style, Hiden is an 8-seat, reservations only restaurant, that is actually “hidden” behind a The Taco Stand in Wynwood.

ST ROCH MARKET

A New Orleans food hall in the Design District featuring 12 vendors specializing in delicious southern style food.

DOC B’S FRESH KITCHEN

Chicago-based Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen is now in Coral Gables. Featuring a super expansive menu and great everyday happy hour specials.

It might not be summer just yet, but it sure feels like it. This perfect weather put me in a summer state of mind. Miami is the ultimate summer destination and yes our beaches our out of this world, but so are our hotel pools. Some are steps from the ocean, some have incredible rooftop views, and some are just so damn cute, charming and rich with history. Below are my favorite Miami Hotel Pools. If I missed a great one, let me know!
