There’s no place like home, and whether yours is a cramped shoebox New York City studio or a 10 bedroom luxe mansion on Miami Beach, it’s always important to make sure your home is somewhere you feel comfortable and cozy.
Not all of us are working with unlimited budgets, but that doesn’t mean you can’t stay on top of the latest interior design trends and get your home looking totally insta-worthy. All it takes are just a few touches of brass.
My current favorite interior design trend is brass hardware – whether it’s in the kitchen, the bedroom, or the bathroom, it always takes a room from being blah to beautiful. Brass brings back that 70’s feel (which is also currently on trend) and it has a warm hue with a vintage retro look. Brass looks great with darker, more saturated colors (dark blues + greens) and also with marble and terrazzo (another 70’s comeback).
Take a look at some of my favorite brass interiors via Instagram to get some inspiration for that moment you design to re-vamp your home.
If you think this open shower is impressive, wait till you see the view. The Versalys marble-clad master bath in Joanne and Rico Zorkendorfer’s family home looks out onto Jackson Hole, WY, for epic views that forge a deep sense of connection with the natural world. “The brief was for a house that felt restorative, serene, and elemental,” says Joanne. Designer @martynbullard has never been shy about making a statement, but his latest project—a sprawling collection of furniture, accessories, and art for retail Goliath @frontgate—shifts the designer’s global ambitions into overdrive. “I’ve had such a public platform for so long. Now I’m finally able to bring a taste of my work to a much larger audience,” says Bullard, who counts a gaggle of megawatt celebrities among his fans.
